Borderstan: News from Dupont-Logan-U Street

Paul Williams, executive director of the Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets program since April 2008, will be departing to return to his historic preservation consulting firm. MetroWeeklys article indicates the Board made the announcement on January 1. There’s no word of potential replacements as of Thursday evening.

The organization’s mission is to preserve and promote the historic nature of Dupont Circle and has established events such as Taste of Dupont. The organization also played an important role in the 2011 17th Street Festival.

  1. I hear Paul is leaving because the Board lost a major funding source and no longer has the means to pay his salary. It’s real shame. He’s going to be missed by the entire community. He really has become the face of Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets.
