The Washington Post breaks the bad news that lease negotiations have fallen through at Mark Furstenberg’s tentative location for a retail bread place. Furstenberg is the founder of lunch mecca Breadline as well as Marvelous Market.
The full list of requirements is in the story, but clearly the realty company felt he was a high risk tenant if they asked for 10 years of guaranteed rent, even if he went out of business or transferred the lease. The location would have been at 1825 Connecticut Avenue NW.
