Dupont’s Washington Studio School (WSS) is proud of the work its students produce and is ready to show off a bit. The current exhibition opened  March 2 and runs through March 30 — come check out the WSS Annual Juried Student Show at its gallery and studio located just off the circle.

The juried show contains selected work from students who have been enrolled in WSS classes during the past two years. Works from beginners to seasoned artists will be represented, giving the show an eclectic energy, as Head of Faculty Jill Phillips points out.

“It is so exciting to see the work of a new artist deftly exploring the language of shape, value, rhythm and movement hanging side-by-side with that of a longtime and very accomplished student who has pushed the language toward work that is unique and personal,” Phillips said. “It shows how a common language can respond to the visual world in ways that are uncommon and varied.”

Jurors chose the pieces they thought best represented WSS’s diversity from over 100 drawings, paintings and sculptures that were submitted.

The Washington Studio School is located at 2129 S Street NW. Gallery hours are 10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, and by appointment on evenings and weekends. The Annual Juried Student Show will be on exhibit until March 30. Give WSS a call at (202) 234-3030 or check out the school’s website to learn more.
