Ted’s Bulletin on 14th to Open in Early 2013 at The District

Ted’s Bulletin will be opening its second location in the ground floor of The District apartment complex (14th Street NW) in early 2013, according to announcement late last week from the restaurant and the developer of apartment complex. The project, which runs along the west side of 14th Street from S to Swann, will have 125 rental units as well as ground-floor retail; it is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Ted’s Bulletin, located the Barrack’s Row section of Capitol Hill on 8th Street SE, is known for its “homespun staples like mac and cheese, meatloaf and tomato soup, as well as an extensive brunch menu with à la carte items including homemade pop tarts.” The 14th Street restaurant will have 180 seats and an extensive baked goods lineup.
The same owners of Ted’s Bulletin will be opening another location of famed pizza/ pasta/wine bar Matchbox at the northwest corner of 14th and T Streets NW. There are three other Matchbox locations in the DC area (two in the city), plus one in Palm Springs, California. Matchbox bills itself as “vintage pizza bistro.” In addition to Ted’s Bulletin and Matchbox, the owners also opened DC-3 on 8th Street SE.
Owners of Estadio and Proof are opening a Southeast-Asian themed restaurant in the District development, which was announced last month. The District is a project of The JBG Companies and Grosvenor Americas.
