The annual Easter Egg Hunt at Stead Park field on the 1600 block of P Street NW drew a large turnout of kids and parents late Saturday morning. The festivities included snacks, face painting, balloons and, naturally, a good sport who wore an Easter Bunny costume.

According to Logan Circle parent Joelle Myers, “There were  about 100 kids and more than 100 adults there. There were lots of families on the playground as well. They let the age 2-and-under crowd start to hunt for eggs, and then opened it up to all kids. The kids really had a blast fetching the eggs!”

It was the 7th annual Easter Egg Hunt at Stead Park field, which is sponsored by Lindsay Reishman Real Estate. The turnout on Saturday confirms what many long-time residents of the neighborhood have noticed for the past five-plus years: more families are choosing to stay in the area after kids arrive, instead of leaving for outer DC neighborhoods or the suburbs.

  • So true – we’ve been here for 10 years and the neighborhood – always wonderful – has evolved into a convenient place to have a young family. I want to mention that the Stead Park volunteers are amazing and always keep the park safe for the children. As the parent of a neighborhood toddler, I am very grateful for their work and appreciate the time and effort they consistently put in.
