This time the weather cooperated. Dance in the Circle, rescheduled from April 21, was blessed with clear skies and cool spring weather yesterday. Ten dance companies performed between 3 and 9 pm — with help from the crowd, of course, especially during the open dancing hour at 8 pm.

The companies participating Sunday were DancEthos, Dance Dimensions, Calico Cloggers, Urban Impact, DEVIATED THEATRE, YaLa Fitness, darlingdance company, Urban Artistry, Hoop Dance DC, Urban Artistry, – 9 pm: Open dancing

The event was organized by co-producers Daniel Kramer and Michael Lipin and featured nine local dance companies.

Dance in the Circle was made possible with support from the Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets, as well as local sponsors Attache Property Management, LaKritz/Adler Real Estate Investments, the office of DC Councilmember Jack Evans (D-Ward 2), Kramerbooks & Afterwords Café, Axis Salon, BGR, Diego’s Hair Salon, Mr. Yogato and Books-A-Million and Borderstan.com). You can still make a donation by visiting the Dance in the Circle website.

Thanks and congrats to Michael Lipin, Daniel Kramer, Mike Feldstein, and the local businesses who helped sponsor this wonderful event.

We are fortunate to live in such a wonderful neighborhood, and doubly fortunate to have folks like Michael, Daniel, and Mike who can dream up things like Dance in the Circle or Soccer in the Circle – and who have the drive and remarkable ability to bring these ideas to fruition.

    Great fun! Well done!
