Two Armed Robberies Wednesday Night in Neighborhood

Two gun robberies occurred Wednesday night, May 16, around 11 pm in Borderstan. At 11:10 pm, a victim was robbed in the 1300 block of 10th Street NW (between N and O Streets). The suspect then fled south on 10th Street NW. He was described as a black male with a baseball cap, black T-shirt, and Army cargo pants.

At around the same time, a second armed robbery took place near the intersection of 14th Street NW and Q Street NW. The suspect in that case was described as a 25-year-old black male, about 6-feet tall, wearing dark jeans, a red shirt, and a black baseball cap.

Citywide, gun robberies up about 35 percent through May 15 compared to data from 2011. In the Third District, where both of these robberies occurred, gun robberies so far in 2012 are fairly close to 2011 numbers.
