Last Saturday Square 242 and the Logan Circle Community Association got together to celebrate their annual Alley Party. A pot luck of food and beverages. plus music and dancing made for a wonderful evening of getting to know neighbors and see old friends.
The Logan Circle Community Association, Church Key, Whole Foods, Barrel House, W. Millar & Co, Ghana Cafe, Popeyes and Fathom Creative were sponsors of the event. It was organized by Square 242 Block Captain Doll Gordon (with Councilmember Jack Evans as a guest). The party is held in an alley just south of the 1300 block of Rhode Island Avenue NW.
As the organization’s website notes, “Square 242 is a unique, historic block in the Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. It is bordered by 14th Street, Vermont Avenue, and Rhode Island Avenue, NW.” The block in an odd shape is home to business and residential buildings and reflects the diversity of the neighborhood.
