It is summertime and it is all about patios and rooftops. So it is an early evening and you feel like just sitting and sipping on a beer or a gin and tonic while chatting with friends. MOVA’s new rooftop deck and bar is open all week, with the bar open Thursday through Saturday (you can still get a drink downstairs and take it upstairs on other nights).

With about 1,000 square feet, lounge chairs, sofas and high tables — and the bar right there — it is a great open space to enjoy the blue sky. The MOVA Rooftop invites conversation, with white walls and soft lights adding to the atmosphere. It feels very city-like with views of the surrounding buildings. But the greenery around it brings a touch of nature to it.

MOVA was originally called Halo and was located on the 1400 block of P Street NW. The new name was a take on owner Babak Movahedi‘s name and part of the lounge’s rebranding. Eventually MOVA closed its location on P Street and moved to 2204 14th Street NW (at W Street), where it opened early this year.
