“BLENDED” Combines Art, Music and Performance this Friday

Your icy cold margarita isn’t the only thing being blended this weekend. No matter what people say DC is not only politicians. There is an amazing creative and very artistic force all around. Yes, in a way it is very hard to find but this Friday you will have the opportunity to catch some of that creativity right around the neighborhood.

Friday evening, AIGA DC and Albus Cavus are bringing together more than 60 street art and graphic design artists, music and performance art in a soon-to-be-demolished warehouse in the U Street Corridor at 2030 8th Street NW (right at V Street). The event is called BLENDED. Doors open at 6 pm and the entertainment starts at 7 pm. Food trucks (including El Floridano and Pleasant Pops) will be on-hand to sell refreshments and a cash bar will be available.

We spoke to  Peter Krsko, a founder of Albus Cavus, at the warehouse where Blended is “happening” and he told us, “For over two weeks he has felt honored to be working with some of the 60 artist putting together this colorful party… so much talent.” (Also, see Albus Cavus Sculptures Promote D.C. The warehouse feels like a maze of color and art. Music, graffiti art, and installations are all around as artists prepare their pieces for the event. BLENDED-the name of the one night party, exhibit and demonstration costs just $10 for admission. All proceeds support Albus Cavus’ educational initiatives (classes, workshops, lectures, etc.).
