The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) made arrests in two separate cases in the Third District Tuesday evening, June 26. A victim was stabbed in the 1800 block of 7th Street NW at about 8:45 pm. MPD made three arrests in the case. No information on the arrestees was immediately available. The victim’s injuries were described as minor.
MPD also arrested a suspect earlier in the evening in a robbery case. According to a post on the MPD’s Third District listserv, a woman was walking near 15th and R Streets NW at about 7 pm when a man on a bicycle grabbed her bag.
After a brief struggle, the man fled the scene with the victim’s bag. The Third District Crime Suppression Team searched the area for the suspect and found him hiding in an alley in the 1400 block of 11th Street NW. He was identified by the victim and arrested for robbery (force and violence).
