Do you keep your local butcher on speed dial, assemble a charcuterie board for every occasion or keep your grill constantly lit throughout the summer?

If you answered yes to these questions, don’t miss out on this rare opportunity to celebrate all-things meat and the skilled professionals that work to prepare it.

On July 21, the P Street Whole Foods Market (1440 P Street NW) will host “A Cut Above: Whole Foods Market Semifinal Best Butcher Competition.”

The carnivorous competition will take place on the store’s rooftop and will go from 6 to 9 pm. During the event, Whole Foods Market’s regional butcher champs will compete for a chance to attend the National Best Butcher Competition in New York City at Meatopia.

In addition to watching the butchers vie for the winning title, the event includes special guests, celebrity chefs, local brews, live music and, of course, amazing food.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at http://bestbutcherpst.eventbrite.com. All proceeds from the event will benefit DC Central Kitchen.
