One of the neighborhood’s best restaurants has been recognized for its exceptional service by Zagat. Komi, at 1509 17th Street NW, is ranked as one of the 10 best restaurants for service in the DC metro area.

Already known for its exceptional food (as Borderstan’s Kim Vu reports), this honor places the modern Mediterranean establishment among the District’s best dining spots.

Zagat says:

Johnny Monis leads diners on a “gastro-adventure” at his Dupont Circle American-Med “temple” offering a “dazzling variety of dishes beautifully prepared and executed” in a “subdued”, “understated” setting, made more “relaxing” by a staff that’s “detail-oriented without being uptight;” “expect to spend the evening” as they “serve and serve and serve” a fixed-price “parade” of plates along with “witty wine pairings” — and while the “high price” and “hard-to-get reservations” give “mere eaters” pause, food fanatics chant “just go.”

Other District restaurants on the top 10 list for exceptional service include Plume at The Jefferson (1200 16th Street NW), Prime Rib (2020 K Street NW), Marcel’s (2401 Pennsylvania Avenue NW), Minibar (855 E Street NW) and CityZen at the Mandarin Oriental (1330 Maryland Avenue SW).
