Early Morning Carjacking and Assault with a Deadly Weapon

The DC Police are investigating two incidents that happened early Saturday morning, December 15, within a few hours and a few blocks of one another.
Carjacking at 17th and M NW
Just after 3 am, a carjacking occurred at M and 17th Streets NW according to a tweet and a DC Police Alert. Police are searching for a 2008 black Jeep Cherokee with black rims and Maryland license plate tag number 1AB0462. The suspects are described as two black males wearing ski masks, one carrying a handgun.

15th Street Assault with Gun
Just after 5 am police responded to an assault with a deadly weapon incident in the 1200 block of 15th Street NW according to a tweet. A victim was assaulted with a gun but was not injured. Police announced one arrest in this case. There is no indication the two incidents are related.
