The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest in a December 10 theft at Shaw Middle School at Garnet-Patterson. Police have released surveillance video, which shows a suspect in a hallway of the school in the 2000 block of 10th Street NW just after 5:00 pm. The person of interest is seen leaving a classroom and carrying a plastic bag, which police say contained iPads stolen from the school.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call MPD at 202-727-9099.

Thefts of computer equipment from DC schools have not been uncommon recently. Three elementary schools outside of Borderstan were targeted over Thanksgiving break according to DCist.
