Mark your calendars! Ross Elementary School will host its fifth annual fundraising auction on Saturday, March 23, at 5 pm. Location is the German Marshall Fund at 1711 R Street NW.

However, bidders beware: The online bidding is open, so go online now or show up at the auction if you want to purchase some great items and help the kids and teachers at Ross.

Items for this year’s auction include a Cancun getaway, a Disney family vacation and gift cards to some spots in the neighborhood, among others. (We are told there items to bid on for everyone, including certificates to more than 80 local restaurants, 10 local hotels and vacations galore.)

Last year’s event raised almost $50,000 for technology, teacher enrichment and after-school programs at Ross. All proceeds from the auction benefit Ross School at 1730 R Street NW, which serves children in preschool through 5th Grade.

The event is free and is open to the community. Those who don’t want to bid on an item can also make a donation online. For more information, visit the website or the Facebook page.
