Something is cooking at the corner of 14th and T Streets NW. The space was last used in the fall by French photographer “JR”  as a gigantic mural.

The corner is finally getting some action. With Taqueria Nacional and BakeHouse getting ready to open steps from 14th on T Street, Stub’s Kitchen & Wine Bar will end up the street corner joining matchbox, Saint-Ex and Room & Board.

The new Stub’s Kitchen & Wine will have capacity for 80 patrons and a sidewalk cafe that will seat 40. The menu calls for American dishes influenced by Italian cuisine.

  1. Great news keeps getting better. I live in DC on U Street and I think it’s time to call the U & 14th St. NW corridor the “Washington Cafe District.” No other area (even G’town) has such a density of restaurants and outdoor seating that it’s the perfect marketing and tourist-grabbing branding that this part of town needs. Now, if we can only get the city to do some nice street-scaping (grassy lane down the middle of 14th like Las Ramblas in Barcelona, Spain???!!!)

  2. Mike, totally agree. Our city and street grid is similar in some ways to Barcelona except that our green spaces look like crap. We need to get control of the circles and small parks cut out from the street grid away from NPS. They will never get any love under their control.
