Have you wanted to travel overseas but been unable to find the time? Have you wondered what the interiors of all those embassies in our neighborhoods look like? If so, Passport DC, an international and cultural event beginning on May 4, may be just right for you.

Presented by Cultural Tourism DC, Passport DC offers people the opportunity to visit embassies and take part in numerous cultural events around Washington. Now in its sixth year, Passport DC will run for the entire month of May. As before, they’re bringing to our community a wide mix of cultural opportunities and events.

When not exploring the different embassies that populate DC, there will be street festivals, lectures, performances and numerous other types of events.

Do you want to take a walking tour of some of the embassies in Dupont Circle? Passport DC has that. Are you interested in the Washington DC Dragon Boat Festival? They have that as well. If you’re feeling hungry, why not check out one of the food and wine pairings? Whatever your international interest, odds are that Passport DC will have something for you

Their kickoff event, the Around the World Embassy Tour, will take place on Saturday, May 4. Running from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., this signature event will feature more than 40 embassies from six different continents.

Some of Passport DC’s other signature events include:

A full list of Passport DC signature events, which are completely free and require no reservations, is available on their website. You can also find there, a complete list of all events taking place throughout May.
