Serve DC, the D.C. government agency devoted to promoting public service, will host free CPR classes on U Street next week.
The first aid courses will take place on June 18 and 20 at the Reeves Center, which is located at the intersection of U and 14th streets NW.
Each training session will be led by emergency-management professionals and first responders.
The goal of the program is to train 800 to 1,000 D.C. citizens how to respond to emergencies in their communities.
“Knowledge of basic first aid can make the difference between life and death, and knowing how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a vital life skill everyone should have.” said Serve DC Executive Director Kristal Knight in a press release.
