school busA collision between a silver Kia and a school bus in Adams Morgan sent a child to the hospital earlier this morning.

The collision occurred near the intersection of 17th and Fuller streets NW, said D.C. Fire and EMS spokesman Oscar Mendez.

Mendez said that one person was sent to a nearby children’s hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. It was unclear whether the person was on the bus or in the car.

The crash occurred roughly one block away from H.D. Cooke Elementary School. An employee at the school said that administration had not received any reports of a crash involving one of its buses.

D.C. Public Schools spokeswoman Michelle Lerner could not be reached for comment.
