Star Trek, board games and avoiding the sun are celebrated nerd pastimes. Embrace your geeky side during this touring show tour that includes “nerd-folk” duo The Doubleclicks, comedian and writer Joseph Scrimshaw and ukulele songwriter Molly Lewis.


Taste Test Comedy Night
Prequel (918 F St. NW)
7:30 p.m.

Food and humor blended together. Four comedians do funny things onstage while guests nosh on free samples.

Ellen Urbani: LANDFALL
Kramerbooks and Afterwords Cafe (1517 Connecticut Ave. NW)
6:30 p.m.

Author Ellen Urbani chats about her book, a drama set in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.


Epic Comix Hangout
Fantom Comics (2010 P St. NW)
6:00 p.m.

Sometimes, brilliant comic book creators hang out with us simple folk. Meet some of those creators during this event. Guests include Brandon Graham and New York City art collective Hang Dai Editions.


Grease Sing-a-long at Stead Park

7:15 p.m.

Sing along with songs from “Grease,” and show up in your best ’50s attire as prizes will be awarded for the greatest getup.


In Your Ear
DC Arts Center (2438 18th St. NW)
3 p.m.

Avant-garde poets gather monthly to read and perform. This month’s performers are Cynthia Arrieu-King, Martine Bellen and Magus Magnus.


The Fratellis
9:30 Club (815 V St. NW)
7 p.m.

A British band you’ve probably heard at least once will play a show at the 9:30 Club.
