A crowd of runners will occupy several roads near Howard University tomorrow as they compete in the school’s “Sprinting for Glory” 5K race.
The run is part of Howard’s homecoming week celebrations, which start Saturday and end Oct. 3.
Streets along the race route will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m. to noon, including:
- W Street NW between 4th and 6th streets NW
- 6th Street NW between W and Gersham streets NW
- 4th Street NW between Bryant and W streets NW
The name of the race comes from this year’s homecoming theme: Glory. A portion of the proceeds from the race will go to the Diabetes Treatment Center at Howard University Hospital.
