Bike Police — Police got a bunch of brand new mountain bikes, and of course, they spent the day yesterday showing off and cruising through the city. The white bikes come equipped flashing lights and sirens, but no pegs for sweet tricks. [Washington Post]

Georgia Ave Recommended for Main Streets — The section of Georgia Avenue NW from Florida Avenue to Upshur Street is being recommended for D.C. Main Streets. The program could help revitalize business and culture on those 24 blocks. [Park View, D.C.]

Donate Old Coats Here — Bring blankets, scarves, coats hats and gloves to St. Stephen’s Church at (16th and Newton streets NW) before Nov. 2. [New Columbia Heights]

It’s Back to the Future Day — We’re officially living in the future. Want to see a real DeLorean? Head to Fantom Comics tonight at 6 p.m. [Borderstan]
