Mediterranean food with a side live jazz is moving closer toward reality in Shaw.
Gebena Restaurant at 1917 9th St. NW applied for a liquor license last week, according to a notice published by the D.C. Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration.
Located in the former Queen Makeda space, the eatery will have “American, Mediterranean and vegetarian dishes with soft music or live jazz,” the liquor license paperwork says.
It wasn’t immediately clear when the restaurant will open.
A Gebena representative wasn’t immediately available to comment.
