Paramedics rescued a woman trapped inside of a trash chute on the 1300 block of Clifton Street NW late last night, said D.C. Fire and EMS spokesman Oscar Mendez.
Firefighters arrived on the scene at 11:05 p.m. and found a woman stuck in a trash chute between the first floor and the basement of the Wardman Court apartment complex.
How the woman became stuck was not immediately clear, Mendez said.
Rescue workers freed the woman at 11:37 p.m. and transported her to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, Mendez said.
Journalist Alan Henney first noticed a scanner call for a person stuck in a trash chute around 11:25 p.m. last night. Several locals also made note of the firefighter presence at 13th and Clifton streets NW, wrote PoPville.
