‘Anti-SoulCycle’ Gym to Open in New Mount Pleasant Spot Next Month

A Mount Pleasant gym dubbed the “anti-SoulCycle” is planning to move to a new location in the neighborhood within weeks.
Fit 360 at 3220 17th St. NW is slated to move about four blocks south to 3058 Mount Pleasant St. NW on Dec. 5.
Previously the home of a 24-hour laundromat, the Mount Pleasant Street space will have the same TRX suspension training rubber bands, weights and other exercise equipment as it does on 17th Street, but with more room, said Chiara Richardson, who runs the gym with her fiance, Brian McGee. Fit 360’s current space is 1,700 square feet, 800 square feet less than 2,500 square feet the new gym will offer.
Fit 360 won’t lose its 24-hour access for members when it moves, either. It also will continue to have private and group classes for students of all athletic abilities — just no spinning.
A sign advertising the new gym promises “no candles,” a staple of SoulCycle’s workouts on stationary bikes.
“We are about total-body wellness,” said Richardson, who called Fit 360 the “anti-SoulCycle.” “We have something for everybody.”
