Police CarA masked thief and three accomplices attacked and robbed a man near the 14th Street corridor Friday night, police said.

The violent robbery happened on the 1800 block of 13th Street NW. The area is a block east of Black Cat and Matchbox.

The victim was walking in the vicinity when four men came up to him from behind, according to authorities. They then tackled him.

Once on the ground, the victim was punched and kicked by the four suspects. One of the suspects, who wore a black ski mask, then grabbed the victim’s BlackBerry from his pocket.

The masked robber and his accomplices fled when a witness began honking the horn of his car.
