Woman Sexually Assaulted, Robbed in Armed Kidnapping in Shaw

Police car lightA man with a knife kidnapped a woman whom he sexually assaulted and robbed in Shaw over the weekend, police said.

The armed kidnapping began on the 1100 block of 11th Street NW and ended on the 1500 block of 5th Street NW Saturday morning.

The woman was walking on 11th Street when the man ordered her into his car, according to authorities. He then drove her to 5th Street, where he sexually assaulted and robbed her.

Police said the suspect is:

“A black male, approximately 6′ tall, 200 pounds, in his early 30’s, with small eyes, bald head, and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and light blue jeans. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a white minivan with an unknown tag.”

Anyone who has information regarding this case should call police at 202-727-9099.  Additionally, information may be submitted to the TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.  The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for an armed robbery committed in the District of Columbia.
