ANC 1B Leads Volunteer Neighborhood Cleanup Day

Commissioners and volunteers met at Saint-Ex on 14th Street

If your neighborhood looks a little cleaner today, it might be in part because of ANC 1B and a group of community volunteers.

Several of the ANC’s commissioners and a small crowd of locals swept, raked and picked up refuse across parts of 14th Street, U Street and Shaw yesterday morning. Volunteers also passed out flyers on how to help prevent crimes across the area.

“We were very grateful for all the volunteers that came out to support and look forward to doing more in 2016,” wrote cleanup day organizer John Green, 1B-12, in an email. “I believe we made a difference yesterday, while sharing an important public safety message for all our communities.”
