PHOTOS: Inside Forthcoming Dupont Restaurant The Chickery

Dupont Circle residents will soon be able to sink their teeth into chicken sandwiches and meaty rotisserie chickens.
Forthcoming Canadian chicken franchise The Chickery is slated to open at 1300 Connecticut Avenue NW in the next one or two weeks, said manager Lionel Davis.
A preliminary peek inside the restaurant earlier today revealed rustic wooden tables and walls and a “state-of-the-art” kitchen equipped to fry, roast and bake dozens of chickens.
Workers were putting the finishing touches on the restaurant when we stopped by to take photos earlier today, and Davis added that the only hurdle left before the restaurant opens is a health inspection.
The Chickery is a fast casual roasted chicken restaurant headquartered in Toronto. The company has no U.S. locations open for business, but it says its Dupont Circle location will serve as a starting point for additional U.S. expansion.
As noted by the Washington Post, the space’s previous tenant was Black & Orange, a burger restaurant that closed after a neighboring law firm sued it for wafting and irritating cooking odors.
