Brawlers Stab, Beat Men in Front of Shaw Clubs

Police CarA man was stabbed and another man was beaten with a glass bottle in separate incidents in front of two Shaw nightclubs this weekend, police said.

The stabbing happened outside Bar 7 at 1015 7th St. NW about 3:30 a.m. Saturday. The other assault occurred in front of Oove at 1853 7th St. NW about 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

The victim in the stabbing was outside Bar 7 after it closed when a “huge scuffle” broke out, according to authorities. During the melee, the man was stabbed.

The man was then brought to a hospital for stitches.

Police released this description of the man wanted in the attack:

Lookout for a B/M 5’6″-5’7″, wearing all black, Med build, short hair.

The man who was beaten with the bottle was arguing with his attacker over entering Oove when the assailant went inside the club and returned with a bottle, according to authorities. The attacker then hit the victim with the bottle in the head, causing a large cut. The assailant also punched someone else in the face during the incident.

Police arrested the suspect in the attack. His identity wasn’t immediately clear.

On the U Street corridor, a man also was stabbed near Ben’s Chili Bowl about 2:45 a.m. Saturday.
