A “full-service” spice shop is set to begin scooping out personalized flavor concoctions and more than 100 ready-made blends in Atlantic Plumbing within a few weeks, its owners told Borderstan today.
Bazaar Spices is slated to expand its offerings at its Union Market stand with a 625-square-foot space at 2130 8th St. NW during the first week of January, owners Ivan Fitzgerald and Monica Grover said.
“At Atlantic Plumbing, we will continue to offer our high level of customer service that we really take great pride in providing and the really deep, rare and eclectic collection of spices, botanicals, beans, rice, lentils and other specialty items,” they said in an email. “We will have more room so we plan on adding even more unique goodies.”
In addition to spices, the new location will have drinks, including the “I’m So Not Green Tea” brewed with saffron and nettle leaves and the “Rose Tinted Glasses” made with aromatic edible flowers.
Talks and other events also will be a feature of the Atlantic Plumbing spot.
“We used to do a number at Union Market, but as the market has grown it’s been more difficult to provide a good experience,” Fitzgerald and Grover said. “We designed our new space with the events in mind and look forward to kicking off the new year with some interesting talks and events that are fun, interactive and unique.”
