A restaurant and lounge with “a touch of African and Caribbean flavor” is set to open on L Street within weeks, its owner told Borderstan today.

XO at 1426 L St. NW is slated to welcome customers for the first time in January, owner Christopher Nwaeze said. The eatery is located in the former Roc Bar and The Reserve space, next door to Post Pub.

Nwaeze, who also owns the Oxygen nightclub in Baltimore, still is finalizing the menu and entertainment for his restaurant. But he said he occasionally will bring in disc jockeys and bands and will serve lunch and dinner with some “international” food — but not too much.

“Everybody will be able to find something good on the menu,” Nwaeze said.
