A man was shot near an elementary school in Columbia Heights at about 5 p.m. this evening, said D.C. Police.
The shooting occurred on the 1100 block Irving St. NW, which is near the Tubman Elementary School.
The victim of the shooting was conscious at the scene of the crime, said an MPD spokesperson.
