Christmas is almost here. Depending on who you ask, that makes this an especially short or an exceptionally long week.

Need something to fill time? Here are some options, from last-minute holiday markets to concerts:

Tuesday

Christmas Eve Open House
Mansion on O Street (2020 O St NW)
Tuesday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Buy items donated by members, friends, neighbors and guests during this holiday market. A Christmas Eve party will follow.

Wednesday

Hickory Dave’s Honky Tonk Christmas
Black Cat (1811 14th St NW)
7:30 p.m.

“Hickory” Dave Curtis will spin country  music “in celebration of the birth of baby Jesus” during this hollerin’ hootenanny.

A Motown Christmas
Howard Theatre (620 T St. NW)
6 p.m.

Christmas songs such as “Silent Night,” “This Christmas” and “Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer” performed like Motown hits.

Saturday

Town and Country
Town Danceboutique (2009 8th St. NW)
6:30 p.m.

Want to learn to line dance? Here’s your chance. Every other Saturday, D.C. Rawhides hosts this event of line dancing and socializing with lessons for all who want — or need — them.

Sunday

Three Man Soul Machine
Bossa Bistro + Lounge (2463 18th St. NW)
9:30 p.m.

Watch as Three Man Soul Machine mixes soul, jazz, blues, and reggae in a “musical gumbo.”

Shaw Knitting Circle
Watcha T. Daniel/Shaw Library (1630 7th St. NW)
3 p.m.

Knitting and crocheting for all experience levels. Though the library will provide training materials, guests will need to provide their own needles and yarn for take-home projects.
