Christmas is coming early to two coffee shops downtown.
The Peet’s Coffee & Tea locations at 1156 15th and 1101 17th streets NW are set to pour complimentary java Thursday. But the shops are encouraging customers who get the free coffee to make a donation to Bread for the City, which helps District residents living in poverty.
From a sign posted at Peet’s 15th Street location, according to local blog PoPville:
Peet’s Coffee at 15th and M invites you to join us in supporting Bread for the City this Holiday Season.
Drip coffee will be served free of charge all day long as we welcome you to donate toward a worthwhile cause.
Meet your neighbors, enjoy coffee, and snap a photo with SANTA CLAUS! #PeetsDC
Reserved seating will be provided for our homeless neighbors.
