Meet Atlantic Plumbing’s Ramen Eatery — Haikan, the forthcoming ramen restaurant from the team behind Daikaya in Chinatown, is set to open in the spring at 805 V St. NW. The eatery will serve “Sapporo-style” Japanese noodle soup, which has a clear broth. [Washington Post]

Whole Foods’ Christmas Tree Bugs — Hundreds of bugs came out of a fresh-cut Christmas tree a Logan Circle woman bought at the Whole Foods Market on P Street NW. “I pulled the tree out of the house and when I dropped the tree to the ground hundreds of [aphids] went running across the concrete — it was terrifying,” the local said. Whole Foods workers picked up the tree from the woman’s home, gave her a refund and offered to help pay for an exterminator. [WTOP]
