Adams Morgan Shop to Help Pot Growers (And Other Gardeners, Too)

Future home of Wash HydroA store is slated to open in Adams Morgan next week for locals looking to start indoor gardens for fruit, vegetables, flowers and, if they so desire, marijuana.

Wash Hydro is expected to begin selling its hydroponic gardening supplies at 2318 18th St. NW next Friday, said John Kenney, who is helping set up the shop. The store is owned by his daughter, Sarah Kenney, who started the business online last year.

Although Wash Hydro’s grow tents work for cultivating cannabis, John Kenney told Borderstan this week he uses hydroponic gardening techniques for African violets.

The shop’s grow tent systems range in price from about $1,700 to $7,000. The store also sells vaporizers and nets for drying herbs, among other items.

“We’re all about the home [gardening] enthusiast,” Kenney said.
