Wednesday

Drunk vs. Faded: A Spelling Bee

Drunks and people engaged in “legal DC activities” will compete in a spelling bee.

Thursday

“Ariadne’s Thread” Film Screening
Shaw/Watha T. Daniel Library (1630 7th St. NW)
6:30-8:30 p.m.

Director Haya Fumm will take questions after a screening of her independent film, “Ariadne’s Thread,” which is about a young woman and her lover.

Saturday

Southern Sideshow Hootenanny Fundraiser Show
Black Cat (1811 14th St. NW)
9 p.m.

Sideshow performers are raising money and showing off their talents in preparation for a “weekend dedicated to the celebration of and professional development in the sideshow arts taking place in New Orleans,” according to a Facebook post.

Sunday

Hip “Hop” – Old School Hip Hop Bar Crawl
U Street corridor
3 p.m.-2 a.m.

Catch DJs at six U Street corridor bars that are having drinks specials for wristband-wearing crawlers. Wristbands cost $22 online or $20 in cash at the bars the day of the crawl.
