Police Ask Locals for Help in Honoring Top Cops

The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying cops who deserve recognition for their work in Dupont Circle, Columbia Heights or other neighborhoods in D.C.

MPD is taking nominations online until Friday for its Community-Oriented Policing Award for service in 2015.

“Do you know a member of the Metropolitan Police Department who provided outstanding police service and/or truly exemplifies community oriented policing?” the police department’s website says. “If so, let us know!”

The presentation of the award is scheduled for March 3.
