Shaw Bar Goers Left Bloodied in Separate Robberies This Weekend

Police car lightThieves punched and robbed Shaw bar goers in two different robberies that left the victims bloodied early Sunday morning, police said.

The violent encounters happened outside Lost & Found (1240 9th St. NW) and inside Vita Lounge (1318 9th St. NW) between 3 and 4 a.m. Sunday.

When leaving Lost & Found, a man was hit in the face by a person and possibly other people, according to authorities. The individual or individuals then took the victim’s wallet and iPhone, as well as some of his other belongings, before fleeing.

The victim sustained a bloody nose and mouth in the robbery. But he declined medical attention.

Police haven’t released a description of the suspect or suspects.

At Vita Lounge, someone came up to a man from behind and punched him in the face.

“Give me all that sh-t,” the attacker said to the victim, while going through one of his pockets, according to authorities.

The victim then began to hit his assailant, drawing two other attackers to the fight. During the brawl, the victim’s first attacker stole an iPhone and $4,000 in cash from him.

Bleeding from the face, the man left the bar and began to walk in and out of traffic on 9th Street before a police officer approached him, according to authorities. He was was brought to a local hospital for treatment.

Police haven’t released a description of the suspects.
