Yamas Lands in Adams Morgan With ‘Healthy’ Greek Food
A local purveyor of “healthy, home-cooked” Greek food has opened its newest location in Adams Morgan, the restaurant’s owner told Borderstan today.
Yamas Mediterranean Grill began serving diners gyros, lamb burgers and other dishes at 2418 18th St. NW Saturday, owner Tony Alexis said. The location in the former Shawarma Spot space is the chain’s third eatery, after restaurants at 1946 New Hampshire Ave. NW and in Bethesda.
“Our customers can expect a healthy, home-cooked meal with lots of meat and vegetarian choices to build their meal just what they like it,” Alexis said in an email.
In addition to gyros and lamb burgers, the Adams Morgan outpost has veggie burgers, Greek fries, soups and grilled vegetable dishes, among other food.
Alexis said he still is doing some painting and electrical work at the eatery, along with staff hiring and training. Once everything is ready, Alexis said he will have a grand opening celebration, likely in March.
The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
