Snow begins to fall near U Street corridor

The edge of winter storm “Gorf” has arrived on U Street NW and in the corridor’s surrounding neighborhoods.

The first snowflakes hit the U Street corridor about 1 p.m. But so far, snow isn’t accumulating.

After the storm ends Sunday, it could leave behind 16 to 24 inches of snow, according to the Capital Weather Gang. D.C. is under a blizzard warning from 3 p.m. today to 6 a.m. Sunday.
