Meridian Hill Park Hit With About 10 Inches of Snow

Meridian Hill Park has received almost a foot of snow so far this morning as a blizzard continues to pummel the area.

As of 8 a.m., the north section of the park had 10 1/4 inches of snow, according to our measurements. Throughout the weekend, we’ll be monitoring snowfall totals in that area.

About a half-dozen people were in the park around that time, hiking through the mostly undisturbed snow for selfies, dog walks and work.

Just outside of the park, 16th Street NW appeared to have received some attention from snowplows, but was no where near clear of snow.

A few cars gingerly made their way along the street, as a man and some other people walked down the middle of the road.

The man said he had “cabin fever” and needed to get out.

“I’m going to the gym, believe it or not,” he said as he hustled down the street.

We’ve been asking for snow photos and updates. Here are some of the photos we’ve received and some other pictures we’ve found:

If you have any photos or updates, email or tweet them to us. But be safe, Borderstan reader.
