One Man Dead, Another Injured After Stabbing at Barcode Downtown

(Updated at 1 p.m.) D.C. Police are investigating a stabbing that left one man dead and another injured at Barcode (1101 17th St. NW).

According to police, someone stabbed 29-year-old Robinson Pal and another man inside the bar at 11:40 p.m.

The two men were rushed to an area hospital after the stabbing, authorities said, where Pal later succumbed to his injuries. The other man is in stable condition, police said.

Police are on the lookout for a car described as a “black two-door Mercedes or BMW last seen [heading] south in the 1000 [block] of 17th Street NW.”

  1. Barcode is constantly a problem. May be time to have the police look into shutting it down.

  2. Pepin Tuma, your statement is so not true. Bar Code during the week caters to the business community, only on the weekend, and Sunday nights, did it start getting out of hand. I have seen the madness (from my office on Sunday evenings) and was wondering WHEN, not IF, this was going to happen. Sad because Bar Code is a very nice restaurant/lounge. They just may need to give up this Sunday evening night club gig in order to get their good reputation back. Like gbrown stated “nothing good happens at a club on a Sunday Night.” Don’t people have to be a work Monday morning?
