Cops Catch Man Suspected of Dupont-Area Burglary Spree

Police carPolice have taken in a 33-year-old man in connection with five burglaries in and around Dupont Circle this winter, authorities announced last night.

Thomas Mathew Collodel of Mclean was arrested Saturday and charged with the crimes, which happened in the early morning hours of December and January.

The burglary locations include buildings on:

  • The 1300 block of 14th Street NW on Dec. 30.
  • The 1700 block of N Street NW on Jan 21 (about 12:15 a.m.).
  • The 1700 block of N Street NW on Jan. 21 (about 12:45 a.m.).
  • The 1500 block of M Street NW on Jan. 24.
  • The 1300 block of Massachusetts Avenue NW on Jan. 24.

At least one residential building, one office building and one restaurant are among the spots, police said.

Colin M. Dunham, Collodel’s lawyer, declined to comment.
