Urban Hawk Spotted Chowing Down in Logan Circle

Who needs an exterminator when you’ve got a hungry hawk?

This ravenous raptor was spotted perched on a tree at the corner of 15th and Corcoran streets NW. Though it’s not clear what the bird was chowing down on, it’s probably safe to assume it was a pigeon, squirrel, rat or other urban critter.

Contrary to what you might think, spotting a metropolitan owl, hawk, eagle or other bird of prey isn’t exactly rare. Still, seeing a big bird gobbling up bloody bits on a tree branch in the middle of a city is an exciting experience.
