Tail Up Goat

A “soulful and sophisticated” restaurant that will emphasize pasta, bread and “idiosyncratic, food-friendly tipples and soft drinks” is a day away from opening in Adams Morgan, according to its website.

Tail Up Goat from three Komi and Little Serow veterans is slated to officially begin serving diners tomorrow at 1827 Adams Mill Road NW.

The eatery is accepting reservations online for Tuesday. According to a sign posted on the restaurant’s front door this weekend:

Sorry, closed for a private event. We can’t wait to see you Tuesday.

The menu under former Komi sous chef Jon Sybert, former Komi service director Bill Jensen and former Little Serow service director Jill Tyler includes charred chocolate rye ($14) and smoked rutabaga ravioli ($15), among other dishes. Tail Up Goat also will have a celery shrub soft drink ($8) and a “Just Like Abuelita Used to Make” with fermented pineapple juice ($8).

“You are just as likely to discover something new and wildly unexpected as settle into a stunning take on an old forgotten favorite,” the restaurant’s website says.
