Cava to Bring Fast-Casual Mediterranean Food to Shaw
Rice and salad bowls with falafel, hummus and other Mediterranean food are set to arrive in Shaw later this year.
Cava Grill is planning to open a 2,500-square-foot restaurant his fall at The Shay, which borders Florida Avenue NW between 7th and 9th streets NW, the D.C-based fast-casual chain announced today.
According to a news release:
Cava Grill’s new Shaw location will feature the restaurant’s signature health-conscious fast-casual Mediterranean menu, with an expanded open-kitchen layout; featured menu items including seasonal vegetables roasted in Cava’s stone-fired ovens, and rotating seasonal soups, juices, and teas made in-house daily; deeper relationships with local partners like Whisked!, Gordy’s Pickle Jar, and RunningByrd Tea; and additional community initiatives representative of Cava’s commitment to innovation, evolution, and attentiveness within fast-casual dining.
The chain has a dozen locations, including an outpost in Columbia Heights. A location in Dupont Circle is expected early this year.
