A handful of local restaurants and chefs are now in the running for one of the culinary world’s most prestigious awards.
The James Beard Foundation announced the 2016 semifinalists for its annual James Beard Awards earlier this morning, a list that includes 11 restaurants, six chefs, and one restauranteur from D.C.
Among the D.C. restaurants up for the coveted Best New Restaurant award are The Dabney (122 Blagden Alley NW) and Kinship (1015 7th St. NW) in Shaw.
Mockingbird Hill (1843 7th St. NW) was nominated under the category of Outstanding Bar Program, and Komi, a Greek restaurant located in Dupont Circle (1509 17th St. NW) is a semifinalist in the Outstanding Service category.
